Highly entertaining, I am charmed

A little bit worried about a white lady writing from the perspective of a young enslaved woman. I'll have to reflect on that. The story has me hooked though, reminds me of Possession by AS Byatt, an all-time favourite of mine.

It occurred to me to look back through my reading history and see if authors of books i enjoyed have new stories. Guess what? They do! I frickin loved The Historian and I'm interested in eastern Europe. Here we go.....

Getting myself educated

Awaiting pick up at the library, really getting into the "untold" stories of the experiences of women and girls. Also currently fascinated/intrigued by Balkans/Russian/Chechen/USSR mindsets, how they have been shaped by ancient and recent history. Realising that I ultimately learn more about other cultures/historical events via fully realised characters than I do via non-fiction.

Have to take this off the list - having trouble with the app that the library uses for ebooks and it simply will.not.load.

Have to keep stopping because reading makes me so angry/upset/ridden with thoughts and feels. It was the same reading The Female Eunuch, and is a high compliment.
