Just got to part 2. I think this might be the cure to my reading slump. I’m terrified!

This book is making me want to work for government officials and judges in a position similar to lobbyists but instead just straight up teaching psychology.

One has to wonder how the role of the poor white, a demographic crucial in P. Trump’s election, as pawns contributes to the systemic injustice we see today. Of course, the fact that whites get a pass while blacks are blamed for their own injustice should be noted as well.

Part one done. Don’t love Katherine’s character, really like what he’s done with Eva, and so not ready to say goodbye.

This is everything I’ve been looking for. Skipping a page here and there but overall enthralled with this history.

This is really, really good and a vast improvement over her first.

Since I'm reading Fire And Fury, I figured I should pick up something to counteract it, least anyone think I cherry pick my reading to fit my agenda. This was the only Coulter book available at the library (where I also got F&F). We'll see how it goes!

Reading this for my cross cultural psychology class!

Finally finished part 1. This is so, so good. And so dark and difficult to read in one sitting.

This took a minute to get into as there are many main characters with quickly changing viewpoints, and the writing style is a bit elevated, but I’m finally starting to get into this.

WE'RE FINALLY GETTING BRIDGE OF CLAY. IT'S OUT IN OCTOBER AND I HAVE FINALS TOMORROW BUT I WILL LITERALLY NOT BE ABLE TO SLEEP I AM SO EXCITED!!!!! ALSO I HAVE TO REREAD BOOK THIEF AND THE MESSENGER

Insomnia during dead week.
I guess it’s a good thing to have books. Sleep would be better though.

They weren’t kidding when they said this is a SLOW burn. I’m really enjoying it now that’s it picking up though

I can’t tell if I hate this and am manifesting hatred for myself by continuing to read it, can’t look away out of morbid curiosity, or want to hate this but secretly love it.

I have a few thoughts after this first chunk. I love how everyone’s first statement to Tom is the same. The dialogue was really hard to get used to but I’m enjoying it more now. I love the prose and feel so connected to the characters. Really loving this!

The chapter on post modernism lost me a bit but overall I’m really enjoying this.
