Finally decided to start this despite fearing it could never live up to the magic of The Night Circus. But you know what, it doesn't have to. Although I am happy to say it does emit that same initial charm and allure as the author's first novel. I guess it's her signature vibe and I like it.

Getting better, but it's weird how little the character of Yangchen is explored in her own novel

Ah, it's one of those children's books that is actually written for children.. might give it a shot anyways.
