My suspension of disbelief is sometimes lifted but I do like this so far. Granted it's odd that they are using genetics all wrong, unless it's not supposed to be so in this universe. Sex of the baby is determined by the father's gene not the mother's.

This book pulls me in a few directions. The writing itself verges on pretentious, the heroine is overly weepy, but I am enjoying myself reading this. Mostly because I want to know what the big mystery is.
