been reading both versions of this book at the same time and i've gotta say, a lot of these edits Kleypas made so far feel totally unnecessary (not the racism edits, obviously) and kind of... lazy? personalities feel more watered-down in the edited version and some random changes to details like scenery or food being eaten made me think she hardly did any research when originally writing the book. it's very odd
