Putting on hold cause I'm realising I should probably reread Bonesmith first

I'm only 50 pages in and love this already

On hold. This book is DELIGHTFUL (and the narration is wonderful) but I keep zoning out and missing things. I think my mood changed after I started :/ Will try again soon though!

You know the book is going to hurt you when it makes you tear up in the first chapter

FINALLY rereading this (10 years or so later) to get to the sequel. And first thing: I don't know why I thought this was set in Sydney. I read the book and am surprised it is the US???? I've forgotten everything.

Anyway, getting Black Mirror x Psycho Pass vibes from these M-chip/ M-band elements

I started this on audio (despite owning the paperback) and the narrator is SO GOOD

I've only read two pages, but this book has already made me laugh multiple times.

Never in my life did I think I'd be itching to get back to Atticus's chapters

Had to pause halfway becasue my libary hold couldn't be renewed... I am enjoying it though.

I feel silly putting this back on the shelf when I'm over halfway, but my brain/ mood isn't right and (considering I took a month long break before continuing) I'm struggling to follow what's happening.

I will pick this up again in the future though! I think it's just a me problem right now

I feel terrible saying this about one of my favourite authors, but can we slow down on the spice and increase the suspense/ mystery plot, please? 2-3 spicy scenes before 50% is a lot for me.

(I probably wasn't in the right mood for this, but, in my defence, I thought the suspense plot was going to be bigger... I hope that changes).

I thought I'd better binge this before I start a Love, Theoretically readalong (which is very soon!) since I've read every other Hazelwood book except this one. I'm kicking myself for putting it off so long because I'm addicted.

Doing a reread via audiobook (in preparation for finally getting to the sequels) and I must say: the narrator is AMAZING.

I'm convinced they're an actual voice actor (which, most narrators probably are, but THEIR RANGE! The voices they use for some of the characters are so unique and add to the comedy)

Putting this on pause because my reading mood has changed and I haven't picked this up in over a month.

(It's a good book! I'm just not in the right mood for this at the moment)

I was supposed to read most of this for the Fairyloot readalong, but I started early and am over halfway done before the readalong has even started
