Starting the only one of Fitzgerald's major works I haven't read yet!

Oh my...

One might discover the real genius of this book after asking themselves why Stoker chose to tell this story of Dracula. He could have told a very different story, more gore and action, arrogance and power, but instead he gives us this story. Why?

This fear is an experience, not just an emotion. Yay for the epistolary form!

I have completely changed my tune on Malory's Launcelot...such tragedy. Then ask yourself why and the real fun begins :)

And everything changes...

Love, honor, nobility, ambiguity, madness...what more could these knights want? Perhaps a real enemy to fight ;)

Malory presents a very different Lancelot than White's. I like him but he lacks the depth of the Lancelot in "The Once and Future King".

Imagine happiness as an apple. People spend their lives chasing oranges because they think oranges well grow apples. Just eat the apple on your table. Why chase something which you believe generates happiness when you can just choose happiness? It isn't made, or conjured, or constructed by circumstance. It's chosen and lived.

Though Flaubert's style tends to set my mind to wandering at times, I commend him for seting it to wondering about ways his vision applies to my own life.

Who can't relate to the image of the traveling bluesman? Yet, I commend Davis for helping me see how much more beautiful it really is.

I would NOT mess with these women!

Davis has already made several insightful points and exhilarating connections. I love thinking with someone else's mind, from someone else's perspective.
