Had a few laugh out loud moments :) and candy aside, I'm looking forward to seeing how Chris Sr. will (one hopes) affect the Vidal household's "status quo" now that he's been told. That said, though Day's hot scenes are often steamy.. I do wish sometimes that Gideon and Eva wouldn't ALWAYS (or practically) use sex as their coping mechanism. Give them even more depth, you know?

So.. I just realized I never actually finished this one.. :-/ ... I wonder if I'll be able to finish it without going back and starting over. I guess we'll see soon enough!

Laugh out load fun 😆 chapter 16 had me laughing so hard lol.. some others did too, but that "sparring" haaa 😬 ... laughs aside, the pace is really good and the story keeps rolling really well. I'm really liking this one hehehe... was thinking I might even finish it in one day, but I think I'll make that two days ;)

I'm really not sure if I'll be finishing this one.. the writing is bad, the character development is poor, and the general story is both.

I'm starting it today!! :D I hope hope HOPE this will be better than V's story... I'd been hoping for much with that one but Butch got discarded pretty quick there. Here we go :)))

So far... It's like this book has split personalities. Great writing when from Lenobia's POV and some others, and then BAM: utterly childishly irritating writing. Seriously. I'd say burn those if saying so didn't sound so harsh.

I'm less than 15 pages from the end and I'm here scratching my head wondering.. if "Zakar is disguised as Sin" then why does Kessar see him as Zakar...??? Will the inconsistencies ever END?!? Ugh.

So far... Not impressed. I'll likely be putting it on hold for now...

Somehow, I find the storyline and writing style so much more palatable when the story is not written in Zoey's POV or any of her *shudders at the term* "nerd herd." Their dialogue is so childish and over stereotyped that it actually take away from the story and plot.. And after nine books... Is getting old. Shouldn't these characters mature after all the things they have and are facing?

At this point, this book has made it back to the bookshelf. Why? Because there's more interesting stories demanding my attention, and because, in 190 pages, it's mind-numbingly revolting how long of a summary this book is of the others Okay, okay. Maybe I'm being a little dramatic... But come on... Amnesia can work wonders in a book, but you have to know how to use it! Anyways. Just jotting down page for next time.

Okay. So I've figured out why this one is so bland. This novel is written from an omniscient narrator POV, right? Well, only objectively. And that is the problem. Larsson never, ever addresses the feelings of events or people. At best? We'll get an objective description of actions or reactions. Also? The few times when we do get to see into the minds of the characters? Hardly enlightening.

So. The first 200 odd pages were rather dry... but I kept at it because a friend of mine said it was worth trudging through. Admittedly, it's started to get a bit less mundane now so I'm looking forward to seeing how Larsson will use all that 200-page-plot-development in the last 200 pages :P

Okay, is it just me or Caine seems to have a hard time remembering facts? There were discrepancies in the other books, but this one is pretty major. How can you forget that you shot a character in another book? How can you confuse that with being stabbed? Am I missing something??
