This the story is an interesting thought experiment but lacks a fleshed out story arc and character development in the first half. It was a new and unique when it was originally written, but so far the narrative is not engaging. I loved reading other works by H.G. Wells (The Isle of Dr. Moreau & The Time Machine) so let's see what the second half has to offer.

Friends that I house sit for keep a copy of this gem on their bedside table. I've taken to reading a few pages at the end of the day while I stay there to take care of their dog. My impression, from the first 30 pages, is that this might be the most accessible book on cosmology and quantum physics for the layman.
