Ah Obama, hearing your voice is cathartic now that you've finished your tenure as President.

Fascinating history of public education, which doubles as a history of the battle for civil rights for non ethnically Anglo-Saxon Americans.

Batman Knightfall is one of the first comic book story arcs I read as a kid, back in 4th or 5th grade. The Redslash issue, which I just read, was one of the first comics I loved. It's atmospheric with the hard rain and scenes in complete darkness. Zsasz, the serial killer who cuts himself for each victim, pushes Batman from noir to thriller/horror. I love it!

Utterly fascinating. I think Jared Diamond & Charles Darwin would have a bromance over the history of the domestication & husbandry of animals and plants.

I read large sections of this book 5 or 6 years ago. I am now returning to it as an audiobook via the Sacramento Public Library Overdrive app so that I can get every single word of the book. Returning to it I feel like I'm catching up with an old friend.

I am surprised by how spooky and suspenseful some of the scenes are in this children's book. A real modern fairy tale, like Pans Labyrinth for kids.

Beautiful, poetic, religious and philosophical. I am coming to a better understanding of the selfless, meditative nature of Hinduism. It inspired me to want to read the epic of Mahabharata in it's entirety.

So far I love this book. He's explaining how both Democrats and Republicans chose certain liberties to play up while downplaying others and how we can come together in mutual respect for liberty to discuss all of them.

Pros - President Bush went to mosques and met with Imams to reinforce that Islamic extremists do not represent regular Islam. He also focuses on women's education & women participating in politics a lot. Cons - His defense of water boarding and other "advanced interrogation practices", and his explanation on how terrorists don't follow the Geneva Convention so the US doesn't have to either.

I enjoy his sense of humor and am coming to understand his folksy appeal. His alcoholic adventures become repetitive but I admire him for not editing his memoir and doing his best to keep it accurate. I applaud him for giving up drinking.

It is fascinating hearing Clinton explain his years as governor, and as president, and compare it to what I was told as a child while it was happening.

Not as engaging as other Crichton novels, but a book about airplane malfunctions just doesn't excite me the same way that Jurassic Park, Timeline, Eaters of the Dead, Red Sun Rising, or The Terminal Man did.

I'm listening to the audiobook read by Bill Clinton himself via my libraries Overdrive App. So far it's an interesting look into his childhood, adolescence, and early college years.

This book started slow. The intro mostly layered on the compliments for Jefferson. Once the bio started, reviewing explicit experiences of Jefferson's life, it got my attention. Each chapter became more fascinating. Herrmann does an excellent job explaining all his amazing qualities while still including his flaws. He paints a realistic portrait.
