This book is fascinating. Salman Rushdie wrote novels that explore the themes of religion from a literary non-religious perspective, which sparked Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, the Supreme Leader of Iran, to offer a bounty for his death. This book focuses on his experiences balancing his call for freedom of speech with the danger of fighting for this right.

Between The World And Me reads like poetry. One of the most unabashedly honest and heartfelt books I've ever read or listened to, I have wiped a tear from my eye multiple times as I've listened to Ta-Nehisi Coates narrate the audiobook.

I was finally able to return to Pinker in-between my studies today. Funny and informative, it reads just the way I like it.

I've been reading this in 20 minutes breaks between my masters coursework. So far it offers simple, efficient ways to present the content of a comic in such a way that the audience falls into the story and is not distracted by poor techniques. I am thoroughly enjoying it.

The content of the book is great, but the format is annoying. I wish Pearson Publishing made the pages adjust to fit the screen. It takes exponentially longer to read and take notes when 2/3rds of the page is empty and the reader can only view 1/3rd of the content on a page at a time, regardless of the zoom settings due to poor formatting.

Fascinating! Learning the history of beer, how evidence suggests brewing may have preceded bread making, historically it was brewed in the home by women, & the modern tug-of-war between corporate giants and local microbreweries and all the pro/con health/economic implications.

Content is ok. The format is the most annoying format I have experienced for an ebook. This isn't a kindle ebook, it's an ebookplus that is only available on the Pearson website. It reads like a poorly designed blog from 10 years ago. The zoom is awkward so I'm constantly scrolling up or down and flipping digital pages. The tool bars & side bars are cluttery and poorly designed.

I love this book. For a history nerd who wants to know more about beer this is perfect. It also has made me laugh out loud as much as much as some of the funniest comedies I've ever read. It's charming, informative, and will leave a smile on your face.

The introduction got me off guard since it's an argument that we cannot understand or make predictions about the natural world, which goes against the whole reasoning of the scientific method, which he uses a lot in his writing. The story itself is classic Crichton thus far. I'm enjoying the modern tech heavy plot.

I am audiobooking the Blackstone Audio unabridged production read by Robertson Dean via the Overdrive App. It is fascinating. Like Shakespeare, reading the words, or hearing them performed, are two separate experiences. I enjoy hearing Beowulf performed more than reading it, as it feels like listening to a bard make the story come to life.

Marvin the depressed robot explains to the military robot that he was left behind, defenseless and alone, to fight the military robot, because no one cares about him. The delivery is comedic genius.

The scene where Zaphoid Beeblebrox threatens to attack the computer with an axe if he won't comply, and Adam's compares the computers emotions to how a human would feel if we stood behind one & whispered, "blood, blood, blood, blood" over & over; I love it! Makes me gag with laugher every time. ;-)

Wonder Woman Volume 1 Blood is bad ass! If you like gritty action adventures, beautiful comic book art, and a splash of Greek mythology then this is the comic for you.
