These last 130 pages are a slog. The book is still solid, but it is going on far longer than it needs to, and it already is a somewhat glacial pace.

From compelling to tedious after the inevitable hookup. Listening this as opposed to reading this does not allow you to skip portions easily. It still has a compelling story for me, but the romance portion is not my thing, and it is getting in the way of the plot.

This book is both not great and compelling all at once. The world makes no sense, the plot is (so far) very predictable, but at the same time, the story is compelling me.

Is it wrong to fault a book that is not as good as you thought it would be? I had such high hopes for this one over the many years I have had it, but wow, it is dull. Hard to keep going.

So far, it is ok? It is a radio-drama written by someone who doesn't do radio dramas. It feels, so far, that this could be far more interesting as a full book. But we will see. More to go.
