Eh, it is fine, but wearing out its welcome fast.

Not bad at all, but the description of this book on the "back" of the book really should be revised. It gives a fairly interesting spoiler that would have been far more interesting to watch it develop in the book as opposed knowing that fact due to reading the description of the book.
