So close, and now I can't find the book. :(

So far, very good. I always enjoy listening to authors talk about their love of reading, and this one has it in spades. Plus, I am listening to the audio which he narrates himself, and his passion for reading comes through very well in his delivery of his own work.

An end is in sight!

It keeps going and going. One old plot (the one described at the beginning) after a very long hiatus, has decided to finally come back.

21 more hours to go. 14 down. So little happening....will I be defeated? This doesn't feel worth it now, but I have invested 14 hours into it.

Vomit zombies? Really? This book is losing me.

The meat of the story is finally revealed 40% into the book. Well, that took a bit too long.

I see so many love this including friends, but he wastes so much time with extraneous words that matter not to the story. The story at times is interesting, but then he manages to slow it down and change it on the fly to make it tedious. Sticking with this, but I don't think I have ever read a book more in need of heavy, heavy editing.It will take a miracle of writing to make me rate this above 2 stars right now.

Certainly doesn't have the issues that Reamde has, but this is feeling a bit long in the tooth for what it is. Hopefully, it will pick up. There are a lot more pages for how little has happened.

So many extraneous words...

Why use a paragraph when you can use 30 pages? Pretty sure that's Neil's philosophy at this point.

Currently started this one, and, so far, it is feeling like it is going to be about 600 pages too long at this point. Far more prose is being used than needed. Hope it picks up soon.

Let's see what all the fuss is about.
