I’ve gotten it checked out again, and am ready to finish it.

I’m just not enjoying this, and it’s killing my desire to read at all.

One of these days, I might actually finish a book before it gets automatically returned to the library.

After a little research, I don’t think the author’s native language is English, which could account for the spelling and grammar issues. However, there are also two editors listed, and whatever the author paid for their services, it was too much. The errors are very distracting, and make spending any time with this story a chore.

And another:

”Mr. Saussure,” Lord Hurlingthon interrupted my mild tantrum, “Let me save you a considerable amount of energy. If you care to join me, I would gladly explain everything.”
“No! I demand to know! Why am I here?!”

And all in just the first chapter. I don’t know if I’m going to be able to make it through this book.

When metaphors, similes, and adjectives go wrong.

The entire construction was gray, matching the fainting brown of the surroundings.

The pop-up feast of lavishing furniture and exquisite textures infused into my body all the life I had lost outside.

This reads like Twilight fan fiction.

There is far too much giggling, by all the characters, in this book. :/

I’m not particularly enjoying this, and the mc giggles waaaay too much to be anything other than ridiculous.

This book should come with trigger warnings.
