Weird and disjointed so far.

Uhh... Why lugubrious? Maybe it’s just me, but that seems a really odd descriptor for a night out. Or maybe he thought it means something else?

The word is antidote. While I’m sure an anecdote would be entertaining, it will do nothing to free your victim from the effects of the truth serum you’re planning to administer.
