It's taken...a looooong time...to hit halfway in a very short (by WoT standards) book.

I feel like I'm reading lots and lots of dull things, but at the same time, the writing has a way of drawing me in.

I kinda don't hate reading about Faile...even though I know it's not easy to like her

Finally finished the first two (of four) parts. So far, it has been brilliant.

This is a slow burning volume, but one that feels rich and heavy with history and lore. Memories Of Ice is proving to be another incredible book.

Malazan Book Of The Fallen is proving to be every bit as great as I have been lead to believe. I've read nothing else like it, not even remotely.

Is it me, or is Berelain an underrated character? I was not enjoying this book, but I'm very taken by the Perrin chapters. Excellent, emotive writing.

I won't lie, I was not liking this book at all. But the character writing is very good, very layered, and I'm particularly impressed with the depth given to Perrin. I feel his pain, and his struggle to not give in to his deepest emotions. Not the most enthralling book, but I'm coming around to it.

It's taking me a long time to get through this volume.

I feel like I'm piecing together a million puzzle pieces scattered all across a vast world.

It's immersive, and at times confusing, and altogether brilliant.

Still hands down my favourite book of all time. My anxiety has actually lessened with this reread. I feel at home in Osten Ard.

I love Tad Williams so damn much ❤️

I really shouldn't be reading this, not with Wheel Of Time and Malazan on the go. But depression and anxiety have hit me hard, and I needed to return to something familiar. The world of Osten Ard feels like home.

I have to say I've been in an awful reading slump, but I am slowly progressing with this book. And it's beautiful.

I am happy to say that two proper chapters in, I'm liking it so much more.

The prologue, touch wood, was just a shoddy start.

Well that prologue took me forever to read (it was long), and I found most of it really dull. The saving grace was the last section, which was really interesting and finally encouraged me to resume reading the book with a bit more optimism.
