I was not expecting this series to grow on me the way that it did.
I am very impressed with Kirkman as a writer for his world building, not to mention as a person for his scruples when it came to protecting his work.

Apparently this is my life now lol.

I like how they kept aspects from the comics and applied them to different characters (or made up new ones).

I had pretty much forgotten the chain of events in the 3 volumes I read 10 years ago.
I enjoyed Rick telling Lori to shut the fuck up... I never, EVER liked her, lol.
I forgot about Tyreese's daughter, Hershel's other kids, the fact Beth and Sasha didn't even exist in the source material.
I wish Daryl was in the comics. I quit reading back then when I found out he wasn't.
This will be new to me material now!

I read the first 3 volumes of these when the TV series was in its hay day. Since then I've watched the whole main series and most of fear the walking dead. I have a love hate relationship with the TV show, but i vehemently disliked the comics when I read them.
But that was TEN years ago. Tastes change. 2024 has been the year of 2nd chances. Let's try again, Kirkman.
