Alexander is on page 189 of 253 of What Is Philosophy?
I could read Deleuze on art for hours: "We are not in the world, we become with the world; we become by contemplating it. Everything is vision, becoming. We become universes."

Alexander is starting Quantum Anthropologies: Life at Large
Easily one of the most interesting and provocative readers of Derrida I know. Keen to zip through this one.

Alexander is reading Meeting the Universe Halfway: Quantum Physics and the Entanglement of Matter and Meaning
Rereading this in preparation for Zizek (and Vicki Kirby). Also need to wash the taste of my previous book out of my mouth.

Alexander is on page 40 of 536 of In the Shadow of Hegel: Complementarity, History, and the Unconscious
Elaborates upon the notion of the 'general economy' found in Bataille and taken up by Derrida, and soldered onto Niels Bohr's notion of complimentarity, all to take Hegel to task over differing conceptions of history. Written in '93 and throughly feels like it. A bit like preaching to the converted (me!) so far though. Waiting for the novelty (Bohr!).

Another ridiculously big book. If this keeps up I might even be onto Zizek's (similarly named!) tome by the end of the year...

The Italians just seem to have a knack for writing beautiful philosophy. This is no exception.

So my future reading will be all about anything to do with the analog or analogy, thanks to this book.

Essays on Montaigne and Svevo, because of course he's going to throw literature into the mix. Next current one's on Godel, because why not.

Wilden is a genius. So far, he's reinterpreting the psychoanalysis of Freud and Lacan through the lens of systems and communication theory, and it's amazing how much light can be shed on the former by it. Throw in his acute lefty political sensibilities and this is gearing up to be as amazing as I thought it would be. A kind of pre-Zizek Zizek, only better informed of the sciences.

"The essays in this book represent an attempt to integrate a critically oriented set of concepts derived from psychoanalysis and anthropology with concepts derived from cybernetics, the logical foundations of elementary mathematics, linguistics, information and communication theory, general systems theory, biology, and Hegelian and Marxist dialectics" - What more can a guy ask for :D
