One man has found himself at sea and has come to a very humbling conclusion.

When your boat is essentially slap-dashed together...things go wrong.

Okay, after realizing your boat is falling apart and will likely lose it's mast, it's a good idea to drop out. Thank goodness one sailor realized this.

Oh wow, the 'race' has only just started and 2 of the sailors have already found out how much they hate being at sea. That would be a great indicator that they should drop out because it'll only get worse.

it takes a certain type of egomaniac to make a trip around the world solo. it also take a certain amount or narcissism to set out without any long distance sailing experience. Some of these men you cheer for, others you want to see defeated and taken down a notch.

Wow, talk about true madmen. The ordeals many of these sailors went through before they even considered racing, non-stop, solo around the world, would have made any sane person stay at home for the rest of their lives. But then again...where's the adventure in that. By the way... Cape Horn is terrifying. Waves as tall as 8 story buildings. Yeah, no thanks.
