The writing in this is so quintessentially Canadian in a way i just can't put my finger in

somehow the last page of my library copy is missing so i guess this is it lol

i'm having so much fun with this

I really miss how low effort reading YA is for me, the pages just fly by

Honestly too good at this for my own good

New thing I’ve learned about myself as a reader since Opal & Nev - I don’t like constant real world references in contemporary fiction? Like the references to the 2016 US presidential election or current hot buzz authors in this book. It feels like a name dropping short cut to actual world building and prematurely ages the book. Also don’t love the detached writing style.

Hoping for a less misogynistic ’About the Author’, although that should be laughably easy to accomplish

This is genuinely so disturbing I wouldn’t consider finishing it if I weren’t so far in already
