I'm a little surprised by the pace of progression through this book. I'm already almost halfway through this book and I feel like nothing has really happened. Still loving it though!

Sometimes all the science in this book can be pretty dense. I find myself struggling to understand but it's explained in a way that allows the gist of the situation to be understood. It just takes a little more concentration!

It's amazing how accurate the movie is compared to the book! And what changes there are in the movie I actually agree with. As usual the book is far more intricate and interesting though

In my opinion, magical realism is a little hard to swallow. It's strange reading a story that is very realistic but the suddenly throws something completely magical or supernatural in your face. Link's style of writing helps the reader to just roll with it

This guy is really funny! I've seen some complaints that Watney isn't serious enough about his situation but what else are you to do in a prolonged life-threatening situation which you have to go through completely alone? He has to stay sane somehow

I'm surprised by how much I love these stories! I'm reading them for my English class and I didn't expect to like them quite so much. They're silly so if you want to read them on a surface level they're very enjoyable but reading deeper they say a lot

I have loved getting back into Shakespeare! I find I'm better at understanding it now and I can enjoy it much more than before
