I kind of love that a portion of the narrative is told through the dialogue of a late night radio call-in show

I'm loving that this is really a book about books and how they can shape our lives rather than a big ol schmaltzfest

Ah, a satire that's actually making me laugh out loud. A good sign.

Really enjoying this. This is my first Lippman, so I don't know if she's known for this, but there are some really hilarious moments spaced out through an otherwise fairly serious crime novel

Goodness, this is depressing. But good. I'm getting the Corrections comparisons

And my autumn of short story collections rolls on... it's really no surprise that the ratings for this are so high, and Salinger is pretty much a master at telling stories almost entirely through dialogue. I really like Catcher, and going so far off this I should look into revisiting Franny & Zooey
