Holy wow! Thomas Blanky actually survived! That beast nearly tore half the ship apart as he had to run from for 30 pages straight. I was sure he would been a goner.

Had to take another short break from The Terror to read another short. And it's not because I don't like The Terror. It's fine so far, it's just a bit unfocused and meanders. And when it can't focus on its own the plot, my attention span shrinks and I can't focus on the book very long.

So tonight the book returns to the spookiness on the ice again. Thank you so much for getting back on track after what seemed like a pointless detour in plot.

I thought this book is supposed to be about a ship trapped in the ice in the 1840s with crew members trying to survive the winter as unknown monsters stalk them. But the last 60 pages have been flashbacks exploring the love lives of the crew. What happened to surviving? The monsters? All the spookiness? This book is lucky that I am partial to period pieces otherwise I might have put this down.

So I'm coming to the end and it's revealed the bad guy is obsessive compulsive, so Iim this final act the lead is trashing his place to mess the evil plan. Is it really going end like this? it cant, can it after all the spooky stuff? I mean this is like Peter defeating Roman with a dance off in gotg? Please don't have silly ending book.

This book has some shocking disturbing and down right scary scenes. I never read a book with such strong of spooky imagery before. Not from Barker, King, Hill or Lovecraft. I might have to look up this author's other work when I want something that lives up to the hype of being scary. I have been looking for a author who writes genuinely scary things for over a decade now and I might have finally found one.

If took the writing styles of J.K. Rowling and J.R.R. Tolkien, mixed them in a blender and added a dash of spookiness Ithink it would end up being this book.

I !ight get to the ending tonight! Really loving this book. I hope doesn 't with a sour cliff hanger.
