I knew Lyra was more tame mature from the wild child she started as by the end of the Amber Spyglass. But I can't hardly believe how she became so domesticated as an adult. The only glimmer of her old self is thru Pan and it seems like she's trying to shut him out of her life. Kinda sad.

This book is really pulling on the heartstrings. I hope it doesn't have sad ending.

This book has a good amount of charm,which surprising seeing how it started out so boring I wasn't sure that I would even finish this thing

Wow! Horst is a real jerk.

Now that we're passed the boring "As the world turns" introduction Lucias, the war has broken out and the story is getting interesting.

When I started this book and they spent so much time on how the shining made the ghosts real, I thought it would b really awesome if Danny managed to lure these vampires to the Overlook Hotel so the ghosts can mess them up. And surprise! The story seems to be shifting in that direction. It's like King read my mind. Maybe he has the shining. LOL.

I'm far from a King fan. But I have to give credit where it's due. This is a darn good book. The best I read this year and one of the best I read in the past few years.

At the halfway mark exactly, the pieces r beginning to fall together.

This book has been reminding me of something for a while now. It just seems familiar. And it just dawned on me. The Dead Zone. A tale following the life of a tortured psychic while evil is lurking around in the background. So far it's the exact same template. Only it's vampire instead of an evil politician. I guess it's a good thing the Dead Zone is King book I do like. I really don't mind the rehash.

It's not meandering like other King books. Thank god! But it is quite slow. If Dan wasn't such a likable character I'm not sure I would have made it this far.

In actually liking this one so far. The characters r likable. The story is tight & focused so far. The concept of the story is intriguing. Maybe I made the right call here. As a non King fan it's usually a less than 50/50 toss up on whether I'll like his stuff or not.

For some reason I always thought it was Jack Torrence, not John. Must have been mixing it up with Jack Nicholson with this character all these years.

On page 1 and the first line is a very colorful definition of the word fear that I kind of love. Talk about a great opening quote. Lol!

the universe in fundamentally broken with rips and tears in space time everywhere connecting hundreds of parallel worlds. & a man who has bone to pick with God is recruiting an army on all I these worlds to wage war on heaven. It's pretty crazy. But I still love how it's take a risks to tell a tale that is pretty groundbreaking.

Despite how many times I revisited these books, I still remain impressed by how many risks this series takes with it's story telling and how unique it is compared to most of the fantasies out there.

This new job and work is really cutting into my reading time. I'm not liking one bit. Especially when I'm reading one of my favorite books.

So sad. I forgot that this begins with a 12 year old trying to protect his mentally ill mother. I feel so sorry for Will. I forgot how he's a bit of a tragic character and the polar opposite of the wild adventurous Lyra

I'm tired of reading new books to find them in the range of bad to okay. I want to great a great book. So I am returning to re-read one of my old favorites.

This book is only 300 pages. Typically I can get through book like this in a week. But this so boring that it's a little hard to get through.

I'm getting a strong feeling that this author was watching Pacific Rim one day and thought, "These robots are a great idea but it really needs science!" And that is my theory about how this book was born.

This book is like a real boring version of Pacific Rim. It shouldn't be. This is the sort of book I typically like. But this one is just a good way to put me to sleep.
