Any one remember the x files episode where some people started hearing this awful noise and had to keep traveling to get away from it or else something in their brain bursts and they die? This book so far is a unique retelling of that and I like it. That was a great concept for an episode of a tv show. And it's going to be interesting how much they can expand on it for a novel.

Loved the Wendig's Heartland trilogy so much. If this is half as good then this is going to be a fun ride.😊

I think Joe Hill just included himself as a famous author within his own literary world. I hate it when authors cameo I their own novels.

Wow. This book built up to a whole lot of nothing, didn't it?

The world building is so great. The concept is so clever. Now that it has hit the heart of the story and there are some high risks, I realize I don't care about any of this characters. They are just boring. I really miss Michael Crichton. He used to tell clever tales like with such involving likable leads.

Ok. Let me get this straight. A group of paleontologists get trapped in the past. So they immediately give up all hope of ever going home, party, have an orgy and wonder why one of them is pregnant a month later. These are the dumbest scientists I've seen. Insulting dumb. I don't know how they even made it last the 8th grade.

So many paradoxes, time loops, and characters to keep up. Trying my best to keep did what in the proper order as everyone is jumping back forth so much. This book is becoming a littl a bit of a puzzle now

I kinda expected dinosaurs to be the threat and focus of this story. But it is developing into a strange story of spy vs spy featuring paleontologists, creationists and an unbreakable time loop. It's not what I expected, but it's darn good sci-fi so far, so I really want to see where this goes

So with time travel paleontologists are going prehistoric times to study dinosaurs. But among these scientists are under cover creationist s who are apparently killing people and burying them in prehistoric times to debunk prehistory science and get more followers of their religion. It's really crazy. But at the same time kinda genius. Good job book. I have my attention.

So vampirism is like severe alcohol ism. They get hooked on blood and can't stop. They don't need it but desperately feel that they do. Intriguing twist on the monster. It humanizes them.

I'm actually beginning to like Yennifer. Too bad it took 5 books to get to this point. I know these are all layered complex characters. But they portrayed Yennifer as an ice queen for far too long in this series before her good personality traits began to bleed through.

Whippersnapper! Geralt used that word? Really out of character and strange that such a southern term to be used for tale set in poland. I'm guessing it's just an improper translation from polish when it came to Amerca.

Beginning to feel like a Witcher version of chicken little now. It's a strange choice, but all the characters are so darn likable I would probably continue to read even if all of them decided to stop and do their taxes for a chapter.

The witcher books aren't epic masterpieces. But still they are just so fun and bring a lot of freshness to the high fantasy genre

So why would someone skin a bunch of tabbys to make a sword sheath? First of all It's real cruel. And then it's really hard to do. It's like the 13th century. Cows and deer are abundant. Also do u know how many cars u would have kill to make a sheath. It's all just a very bad idea all around.

I like how elves have been portrayed in books recently. Instead of fair beautiful majestic pompous know it all snooty beings. They have began to be portrayed similar to native Americans, fighting for what they lost against humans. Their flawed, relatable, tragic and I care about them. I want them to win. I can't say the same for traditional old school elves.

Every time I begin to love this book, a scene will come along where not brain goes, "Wait a minute. That doesn't make any sense in context of continuity or this world in general." I'm beginning to get used to it all by now, but it's still disappointing.
