I used like only grounded sci-fi or not at all. Over the last couple years I've been diving into the wacky far future space princesses sci-fi and its been surprisingly fun. Should have not been so snooty and checked out this sort of sci-fi sooner.

I thought this was going to continue the tale of the main character of the last book. But instead its a war/ espionage story about the side characters from the previous book. Not
what I expected but its really fun regardless.

Omg! I think they just killed of Kobi. Like not a fake out. The author just killed a major character out of the blue when his story was getting exciting.....I guess that means Game of Thrones rules from here on out. No one is safe.

So the sequel to mortal engines was pretty terrible, but I'm hoping with this series Reeves can to better. Fingers crossed.

Well that was weird. Really sums up about every story in this book so fat. No really hidden gems in this collection it seemed.

Were sci-fi writers creatively bankrupt in the nineties? Bc most sci-fi tale from that era seem to circle back around to aliens.

A guy looks for his missing sister in a foreign country and everyone is a bit off. Sound like a good mystery to me!

Really loving this rag tag team of Finder's. Except for Scarlet. She's useless.

Oh I want to stay up to see what happens in this crazy heist. But I have to get some sleep. I guess ill have to see what happens tomorrow.

Now the grand finale is a heist. That sounds really gun!

So is Thorne permanent of blind? That's going to be z problem seeing how he's tbd pilot.

The gang is getting back together again.....very slowly. But still better than the last book.

For a series that is pushing the idea of strong female characters, these books gave a lot of girls who are kidnapped and must be saved. Lol.

Scarlet is either a girl friend or damsel in distress in these books. She was one in book 2 and now she's kidnapped and has to be rescued again. Its pretty bad when Cress, a love sick boy crazy super girly girl is more likable and has more agency over her actions than Scarlet does. I mean Scarlet is a tough farm girl. She should be likable but the author is messing it all up. She shouldn't be boring and useless.

This series is slowly turning into a star wars knockoff. And I'm okay with that. Its nice to see someone else take a whack at space fantasy.

A main character just went blind and he's handling it so non chalantly I am beginning to wonder if he's even human. I mean ur blind! Have sort of reaction!

Ill say it again. I'm really liking Thorne as a character. He has this Star Lord Chris Pratt vibe about him that's really likable.

So I guess this whole books takes place in space. That's a choice. Lets see what the author decides to with it.

Wow. Cress is so lonely that she's became a stalker for a guy she sees on the tv. Kinda sad. I hope they break her out of that isolation chamber soon. That girl is not well.

Holy wow! After going thru 2020, I can relate to Crew completely. Being isolated while the world fell apart. I know that can feel. Lol.

Being heavily influenced by Asian myths the enemies have been intriguing. Book 1 was witches & demons. Book 2 was a haunted island & fox god. Here though, robots are showing up. And they're found in tomb practically. Why? It does not mesh with everything else. There is no reason for these to be here.

I miss the haunted island from the 2nd book. It was so simple and spooky. There were no factions, politics, or races to keep track of. I could really go for some book one style cat lectures right now.

The imagination is crazy good in this series. It keeps providing stuff I never scene before.

Okay... that's one way to start a book. An out of nowhere sex scene, a bunch politics, and a sea god with a potty mouth.

Okay. I just realized I was reading a story about a sci-fi writer writing a story and the reader gets to read his ideas as he makes things up as they go along. Its very meta but disappointing bc everything feels meaningless with this twist.
