I find it difficult to give praise for a book about another's misery, especially about a teacher of mine. But it is a very good book. It is also the rare book that offers formative theological and philosophical reflection in and through his wife's suffering. It may not be a pleasant thing to read about, but it is something sorely needed in culture that seeks distractions from life's harsh realities.
