Things are starting to pick up but at the same time remain at snail's pace. Sabwone is such a hateful and vapid character and I dread her chapters.

No complaints though because I'm savouring every detail!! I'm hoping Yala actually does some detective work soon instead of telling everyone around her that she intends to find Mahara's killer. Girl get to work!!!!

I started Chapter 2 a little confused, but still there are stanzas that hit me hard

A few poems are dedicated to specific people, but I don't quite understand what they are supposed to be about cos no context...

I have a tendency to want to analyze poetry and identify the analogies and draw comparisons but sometimes I wonder if I should just enjoy the writing as it is on the page

Reading The Dead Boy after finishing Empire of Pain hit me hard

It feels a little sudden going back to poetry and my mind just wants to drown itself in a sea of words. In any case, done with Chapter 1!
