This book brings back memories of the 80’s cartoon. I’m loving the backstory.

Uggh. I’m almost done listening to this one. Sometimes the story is well-written, and intriguing.
But most of the time, I’m a bit lost in what’s happening. I don’t care for any of the characters and I’m just not into it.

If only our storms were limited to wind and rain. Our tempests consist of the big D’s of life: difficulties, divorce, disease, and death.

Ugggh, the father character is slowing the pace of the story down. I like the kids and the family involved, but the dad character is just not doing it for me...

Colorful story. Some of the main characters are being served breakfast in a local restaurant called Kactus Kate’s, Bess is their waitress, a 6 foot tall blonde with snakeskin cowboy boots...

So many revolting things in this story...I’m not going to spoil anything & I don’t want to glorify some of the disturbing behavior that is going on. But, woah.

This story is disturbing. The point of view from the antagonist, Simon, is creepy. However this is classic Richard Layton stuff... I’m going along for the ride.
