Still not sure how I feel about this book. I feel like the FMC is confusing- sometimes outgoing and other times painfully timid and weak. The MMC is clearly interested in her and gets super territorial and aggressive even though they aren’t together and barely know each other (and again, she’s 18 which I’m having a hard time getting past).. the dialogue doesn’t come off as natural to me at all. Might dnf.

I’m wondering why Smyth is seemingly obsessed with Ary when he hasn’t ever met her before (and she’s virtually a child 😅). But I feel like there’s going to be a storyline there so we’ll see!

I’m not loving the helplessness of the FMC, BUT I’m interested in if the author will develop her character into something less so.

Also the hurt/comfort between Ary and Smyth is speaking to some injured part of myself that loves that trope.

I hate that the FMC is only 18 😭. Besides that the writing is good and I think the ~dark + brooding MMC x innocent FMC~ trope will be fun!

Alright I am just in love with this book. Giddy + smiling 🩷

Promising so far! The writing is decent and I’m curious about what happens next.
