I am enjoying this a lot, the writing is so beautiful and the imagery is vivid. But I think for the standard romantasy market of readers this is going to be a tough one. It feels like it's going to be a very fantasy forward romantasy which isn't really what you see in the "popular" books in this genre. They're more character forward, right now at this point of the book i think it will struggle to be popular.

This is going to be my first 1 star or dnf of 2026. I don't throw this around lightly but I really think that this was written by AI, or horribly horribly edited. The punctuation, excessive exclamation points, ellipses, em dashes, almost every sentence. And the writing is so flat and just objectively bad. It's only 288 pages, do I push through? I know reading is subjective but how are people giving this 5 stars?

If you were homeschooled in the early 2000s when it was really taking off, I recommend this memoir. Aside from the oppressive mother, the experiences are like pulling from my memories.

Dark fantasy/horror with lord of the flies vibes? This is so interesting so far.

This is crazy cute so far, this is just what I needed after a heavy heavy read.
