The last time I read this I was a 20/21 year old college kid. I had read The Stand but not yet The Gunslinger and it's not-yet-published sequels. The main thing I'm struck by is the same names and places in those other works. I'm sure I realized it at the time, but I had forgotten, and now am thrilled by it again. Kinda like The Wasteland was fun with its crossovers, such as Pennywise.
