I’m reading this for a club I’m part of.

This has been an experience and not necessarily a positive one.

👀 Oh my goodness! How is this only getting better? Am I really going to have to wait until 2025 to read more?!

I absolutely knew this wouldn’t disappoint me!

Heather Fawcett has done it again! So far this has been unforgettable and hard to put down.

This definitely reminds me of Game of Thrones (or at least what I imagine GoT books are like). If the lore was fleshed out more and it had stronger female characters, I would probably like this more. It still has plenty of pages to make me like it better.

This is absolutely adorable and funny. The fact that this hasn’t gathered a larger audience absolutely stuns me!

Please please please read it!

Okay I’m so sorry but I HATE DAIN.

This man is the biggest weenie ever and I’m tired of him putting our girl down! Violet is strong. Violet is badass. She can take care of herself!

She just needs to get a clue and shake this guy off.

So far this isn’t bad. There’s a lot of interesting things going on. It’s the amount of military ranking and the lore dumping that’s throwing me off. Does the author expect me the remember and understand all of this? Gosh, I feel like I need to start taking notes or something.

So I’m pretty impressed so far with how interesting and diverse these stories are. They’re ranging in quality and theme but all of them touch on common issues transgenders people face.

Some are really ham fisted and others are subtle. Either way, it’s wonderful.

So. Close.

And it’s amazing.

Bill Door is officially my favorite personification of Death I’ve ever read.

I also really appreciate how Pratchett approaches religion. It’s just really practical and that is incredibly comforting.

This is so clever. I really enjoy all the wit and humor that was poured into this.

This is so GOOD.

I’ve never seen Death portrayed like this before and it’s not only funny but it gets me thinking. Mort is so good natured but it doesn’t seem to be working out for him right now.

Still slowly enjoying this book!

I have to say, the whole magic house thing is a really neat concept.

Hey so! This might be a shocking for my buddies on here that instead of resuming ToG, I’m moving onto Terry Pratchett.

To be frank, I don’t know that ToG will be resumed anytime this year. It is NOT a bad series by any stretch. It’s one of my favorites. It isn’t ACOTAR though. It’s good but different.

That being said, I just want to read some other stuff and I think TP is a good start!

Short hiatus with this one. Holiday season has its GRIPPERS on me right now.

Sometimes I forget how good this book is.

Also if you’re wondering: yes I’ve slowness down considerably. I’m participating in NaNo this year. The holidays are also my hustle and bustle time.

Can I say that the first part of this book is just *chefs kiss*

Tamlin hardly gets what he deserves but the vengeance is just orchestrated so well. The thing about it is that if he wasn’t such an insecure, power hungry jackass then none of what Feyre did would’ve worked. Watching everything crumble around him was excellent regardless.

I can’t believe how much I’ve forgotten about this book.

Reading this for the second time has been such a treat. The things I’m picking up on that I didn’t before are so satisfying.

Am I reading A Court of Thrones and Roses again?

Yes.

Part of me is hoping it’ll put me back in the spirit of finishing ToG.

Oh my god… did not expect a hint of romance. I especially love that they’re an older couple.

I read a lot of romantic fiction and I feel a little old sometimes because the characters are usually very young. It’s such a nice change of pace!

Also, really loving the whole poltergeist-esc situation.

Ooooh this is getting a little spooky!

Can you imagine draining your mother and brother to the point that they look like raisins because you crave power?

I can’t!

Interesting concept!

I love magic when it’s done in different ways. Plus who doesn’t love a magic house?

The current story I’m on has yet to impress me. I haven’t given up on it yet!

I do really like the other ones I’ve read!

Picking back up on Fruiting Bodies!

This book was recommended at my local bookstore during the time that The Last of Us (the TV series) was being released. Fungi is interesting, isn’t it?

So far, the book has me intrigued. The idea of childhood innocence and poisonous fungi mixing together reminds me of my own childhood. There’s more to it than just mushrooms though!

This book is incredible. Seriously.

It’s fast paced. It’s seductive. It paints a complicated picture using simple words and food. Watching a person break apart and slowly put itself back together as the world around them teeters and crumbles is… chefs kiss.

Wow.

I have a feeling this is going to be amazing.

So far, the story has been impressive. Apocalyptic circumstances, cooking and mommy issues never looked quite so good together. I hope this momentum continues.

This is teetering on a 3.5.

It feels like I’m hitting a point where the author isn’t focusing on a bunch of physics. In those moments of absence, I get to soak in just how absolutely wild the new culture and races of post apocalyptic and space-bound humanity are. Imagine: 7 people created 7 races after everyone else died.

It’s amazing. It’s frightening. I want more of this and less presentations.
