Do you ever just read something and go “oh wow” but in the way that makes you blush? That’s me. Why do I love Jacks?

Also all somebody had to tell me was that this book had a scandal paper and I would’ve read it faster. Oh my goodness.

Can you tell I need my ACOTAR scratch itched?

I can.

I really love how this book breaks down the mechanics which insect’s developed that have made them endure millions of years of evolution, natural disasters, and predators galore!

I wish I could go to college and study insects.

Still perfection like the rest of the series.

This is just as cute and fun as the main series. Celeste is so charming and our Himbo love interest is hilarious!

This author answers so many questions I had about the series in short succession. It’s orchestrated so well in a believable manner. Why isn’t this author more recognized?

Seneca is a very smart man. I think the only complaint I have is that he has a tendency to drive the point home through repetition. I have to keep in mind that these letters weren’t necessarily intended for our eyes but for his friend.

I resonate with the ideas in here. There’s a lot to learn and put into practice!

So my friend and I are doing a recommended reads with each other. She wanted me to read this (thankfully it had a modern translation on KU). I recommended my recent read from Sue Hubbell: Broadsides from Other Orders.

So far, this has been kinda awesome. I’ve never dabbed with philosophy! It’s nice that it isn’t making my head hurt.

Everyone loves a little bit of scandal every now and again. I especially love it when the only consequences of it are completely fictional.

I have a feeling I’m falling in love with another book.

I like how honest this author is about what is classified as an insect. They’re supposed to have X, Y, and Z but this species and that one doesn’t have X or Y.

Anyways, did you know that there are bugs in the ARTIC?! That place is literally inhospitable.

Without going too much into it, this main characters relationship with their mother is eerie.

Am I shocked with how this article was handled?

No. I’m not. Does it still make me frustrated? Yes. It does.

Wow the parents make me extremely uncomfortable in this book.

Yeeeoooouch I am having some war flashbacks. I do not miss educational institutions of any kind.

Okay why is this sooo good?

I am actually big fan of Pride and Prejudice. I have an interest in the Regency era in general and absolutely loved Bridgerton (tv series). A gay Jane Austen remix is kind of a no-brainer, isn’t it?

So far, Oliver is a wonderful take on our original main character. The portrayal of Darcy doesn’t feel too far from the original. It’s really cute. Too cute!

So….

I bought more books about entomology so I think I found a new interest. I was going to see if I could contact the author but I found out she passed in 2018. I was profoundly sad.

I didn’t realize black flies were such a big issue. I’m sure I’ve been bitten by some at one point or another in my life but I’ve just never noticed!

I also didn’t realize how much research has gone into the species. Apparently they’re such a nuisance that we have gone through extensive research to try and control the population.

That’s crazy.

Bugs and bugs and more bugs!

370k different types of beetles. I didn’t realize ladybugs were considered beetles. They don’t really teach those things in school. Or maybe they do now? I certainly didn’t learn about that.

Am I just too stupid? I have no idea. There’s so many parts of this book I like and an equal amount of things I’d like to see improved… or removed.

The plot twist, unfortunately, makes absolutely zero sense to me whatsoever. There’s so many moving parts that went into it with flimsy threads in all directions. Which is why I’m wondering if I’m just stupid.

This has gotten soooooo good. I am so excited to finish this as soon as possible.

I feel like Terry Pratchett’s depiction of Death personified’s house is the same as telling an AI generator to make a habitable home.
