This book will make you hate men. Ugh. What a tragic tale.

One of those stories that makes you feel sick. Ugh. It’s so good though. Tough read.

There is some beautiful prose here. It’s pretty funny too!

It was so hard to pick my 2nd Austen after P&P but I’m loving this so far.

“A Confession” felt like a warm hug.

Gosh I can’t WAIT to start War and Peace. This man’s thoughts are so deeply relatable to me.

Not what I expected. Gorgeous writing so far.

A character basically said “If you don’t marry me you’re disobeying god!”

What an incel. JE book 3 really is surprising me.

Book 3 is my favorite so far. Jane’s “rock bottom” is leading to a lovely redemption arch.

It’s a truly relentless book. It’s feels a little bit like it’s dragging but that could just be because I read this section while spending 2 hours trying to get my 3 year old to stay in his bed.

Still there are beautiful paragraphs I’d love to revisit in the future.

Rochester just got way more fleshed out as a character which is really making me understand what Brontë is doing here now.

Finished Volume 1 a few days ago. I love this book. It’s so intense and over the top.

Well this was a thrilling section! Lots of mystery. Still kind of bored. But I’m invested.

This section has been rough. Charlotte just materializes JE’s passion out of nowhere with little nuance. It’s kind of—goofy? I’m not sold. Nothing like Levin and Kitty in AK or Dorothea and Will in Middlemarch. Pushing through.

This books continues to be nuts. I did not expect any of this unhinged plot.
