I feel like I’ve loved a lifetime with Natasha, Pierre, and Andrey. 300+ more pages.

Finally Fyodor got murdered haha. It’s taken 60% of the book to get to the main event Dostoyevsky states on the first pages.

Read a lot on Kindle in the last few weeks. On to book 9!

I got added to an Instagram reading for this and I have been amazed at GE’a writing in this. Several jaw dropping quotes in the last 2-3 chapters.

Like most of these old books, the more you read the better it gets. Gwendolen is quite the character!

The battle of Borodino. The only word for this section of the book is epic.

So ready to get back to Pierre and Natasha! But it’s good to catch up with the Bolkonsky’s during Napoleon’s invasion. Tolstoy depicts such rich, dramatic visuals of war.

Ugh poor Rex.

Enjoying the book but I’m not sure I *like* Gwendolen yet. But I didn’t connect with Dorothea until book 2 or 3 of Middlemarch.

Dostoevsky can write someone unraveling so well. The critical event of the book is about to unfold and it's very exciting.

Finished Book VII Alyosha. There’s a scene at the end of this book that reminded me of a section in the middle of War and Peace.

Was added to a read along of this on insta so I’m diving in! I just love George Eliot’s writing style.

Picked this back up. Fascinating to see where Tolstoy landed later in life while reading War and Peace.

Over half way done. What a journey!
