“The doctor says you need your nausea. It is a message, and we must listen to the message. It will tell us what is wrong with you” — this part is exquisite.

So far, the beginning is very good, shocking and make me question it, but good.

I am reading another book that was recommended by Nathaniel Drew, so far his recommendations are amazing.

Is this one going to disappoint? Let’s discover this out.

I didn’t know what I should read next and I did not want to think or search for anything today; Dostoevsky was mentioned in my last read, and I remembered that I have another short novel by him that I want to read, so without thinking, I picked it up.

A perfect way to know more about Dostoevsky.

I did not finish reading it yet but I can already tell that I will start recommending it. The first part I just finished is worth it itself.

This just hit every part of my being.

“If someone now asked of us the truth of Dostoevsky’s statement that flatly defines man as a being who can get used to anything, we would reply, “Yes, a man can get used to anything, but do not ask us how”

I have wanted to read this one for a very long time now. Finally, the time is here.

Such a heartbreaking beginning.

After a very long search for my next read, I found it, I found the one!

This book seems amazing, the beginning is so good so far, I didn't want to let it down, the only thing that made me put it down is my bedtime. I am excited to discover this one.

Somehow it reminds me of the movie Wonder, one of my all-time favourites.

“History is something you look back on, not something you really feel at the time. In the moment, you're just living.”

Oh my, some chapters can break your heart, some hit you right in the heart, and you can’t help but scream “same!”

I have a very intense feeling that something unexpected is going to happen, I feel suspicious lol. It may be wrong, I don’t know why these thoughts do not leave my mind.

It looks like my body is asking for some rest from everything for a while. So what do I do when I can’t look at a book? Oh yes, I listen to it while reading it at the same time haha, best discovery!

I picked the book and the audio for this one, and I am so excited that I am finally going to read it.

An incredible person recommended this book to me. If you are reading this, thank you, you are the best, Shereen! <3

“I don’t know how to be silent when my heart is speaking.” — This is beautiful.

I wanted to read a short book, so I ended up picking up a classic. And oh god, it is brutal. This is a good thing!

I may fall in love with Russian literature because of this one.

“My argument with so much of psychoanalysis is the preconception that suffering is a mistake, or a sign of weakness, or a sign of even of illness. When in fact, possibly the greatest truths we know have come out of people’s suffering.”

What a quote. Full of depth, full of truth.

I love how this book is packed with Greek mythology. It mesmerizes me.

I have to say I suspect everyone. Including myself lol.

I had to pause my current read because I couldn’t wait any longer to read this one, especially after I owned my audible copy yesterday.

Just like the last time. I have a book to highlight, and the audio to listen to.

The Silent Patient was so good to the point I wanted to read everything is written by Alex, but, there is nothing but this one, which came out last month.

I am so excited!

I would have loved, I repeat, I WOULD HAVE LOVED reading this book last year when Covid hit and the future was unknown. When all I did was reading the news, panicking, and losing my mind. This book would have been the comfort I needed last year.

“There is no shame in disconnecting.”

That's what I needed to hear when Covid hit.

Many parts of this book are very relatable to my real life and my past worries.

Last year when I read Reasons to Stay Alive, I was in total despair, and somehow it gave me a push that I needed. That push was the reason to start reading again after so many years of stopping, and that lead to starting a reading challenge this year, and because of it, I read books that changed me.

So, of course, I would love to add another book by Matt to my read list.

“There is no coming to consciousness without pain. People will do anything, no matter how absurd, in order to avoid facing their own soul. One does not become enlightened by imagining figures of light, but by making the darkness conscious.”

This book is making me realize that I have superpowers. I never knew there is a good side to my struggles.

Thank you for the reminder.

I also love how the writers decided to add takeaways at the end of each chapter, it makes me understand more and absorb what I just read.

This book was recommended by one of my favourite Youtubers, Anna Akana

It explains the importance of feeling what we call “negative emotions” and how they are just as important as any pleasurable emotions; and how we should accept them rather than suppressing or avoiding them, to grow.

It shows the good side of emotions like anger, stress, self-doubt, grieve and giving up.

So far, the book is very good.
