I truly want to sit with Marcus and have a very long discussion, I have tons of thoughts in my mind right now regarding his writings.

I am also wondering with every page, how personal writings can be this philosophical, and be so full of precious wisdom? Oh, God.

Oh god, I am reading a masterpiece.

From the first chapter (first book), I knew that this is going to be a great book, 5 stars for sure.

So far, (book three) is my absolute favourite, even though I still have some pages to finish.

I still don't know if what is happening to Nora is luck or a catastrophe. I believe it is a mix of both.

This book keeps making me think a lot and feel a lot. Matt’s wisdom is showing up yet in another book.

I wanted to read this one after finishing Reasons to Stay Alive. So after a very long time of waiting for the perfect time to start reading it, the time finally came. I decided to read this one as my next read for the 365-day challenge.

This book is recommended and gifted to me by a very special person who owns a place in my heart @Shereen Gh .. So, I am reading this book with a smile on my face 💕

Very short chapters and sections, and I believe it is intended.

The writer did an amazing job mentioning only what necessary.

Finished two parts till now out of five.

I am wondering how this book did not gain much more attention. It took me time to find the practices he mentioned, and it would have been easier for me if I read this book instead.

Till now the book is surprisingly good and very easy to follow.

I know about CBT for a very long time, but since last year, I started to see that it is gaining much more attention.

So I decided to pick this one for my next read to gain more understanding.

From the reviews and book introduction, it seems like it is going to be an interesting read.

Let's see what will happen.

I finished part three. During it, he focuses on explaining dreams, the relationship between psychology and dreams, and why dreams are important.

This part was a little bit disappointing to me and the chapters were very short, but it was also an interesting read. Also, one of the chapter's stood out loudly and that made my disappointment less.

I still have one last part till I finish the book, looking forward to it.

Just finished part two, during it, he focused on why should we sleep — meaning, he mentioned the dangerous effects of sleep deprivation on our health. And let me tell you this, every chapter and section in this part was truly horrifying.

I now understand why he mentioned at the beginning of the book that he “prescribes” sleep as a “medicine”.

Still in love with the book, and glad that I picked it up.

Just finished part one. During it, he focuses on explaining how sleep works inside the brain.

Each chapter was very eye-opening, very informative, and significantly more than I expected. It made me realize how I underestimate the power of sleep. It also made me disappointed about how the world works... but in the 21st century? I am not surprised at all.

So far, I am admiring this book; it is flawless.

I always prioritize sleep, but I didn’t know till recently from a book that the quantity of sleep does not equate to quality.

Since then, I have endless questions, and I am very curious about many aspects, especially about how to have a better sleep quality.

I discovered this book last year, and I told myself, I will read it when I need it... so it is time.

I hope I can learn something from it.

”The most fundamental aggression to ourselves, the most fundamental harm we can do to ourselves, is to remain ignorant by not having the courage and the respect to look at ourselves honestly and gently.” — From Chapter Six: Not Causing Harm

I almost highlighted the whole chapter, I have been fighting my bedtime and sleepiness just to finish it, it is so good, so powerful and full of wisdom. Amazing.

I still have one last chapter (Chapter 12) before I finish this book, and I don't want it to finish, I learned so much. I want more, I need more.

A sequel, please? Hello? Mr. Alex?... No?.. Okay, I will stop now.

Note for the future: Chapter 9, is one of the best chapters in the book, full of fruitful information.

Just finished reading chapter five: exercising, the first chunk of part two, and I feel like I want to sprint my way out of bed.

Most stuff he mentioned I already knew, I was a cyclist & a runner so I know how good exercising made me feel. Maybe it is time to set some anti-laziness rules (his words) and give myself a second chance/try.

He mentioned most of my excuses like he knows my brain. I feel some reassurance.

This book till now is 5 stars for me; the explanation is clear. I have no absolute knowledge of neuroscience, yet I understood quite a lot, pretty easily, and I didn’t feel lost or even lose my interest.

It consists of two parts, part one the one I just finished is about why we are stuck in a downward spiral, it is educational about the brain and what makes us think and feel the way we think and feel.

Fabulous.

Alex explained neuroscience like it’s a piece of cake. For someone who has not much knowledge of brain science, I didn’t get lost through the explanation. He easily explained hard concepts.

I like this book so far.
