Nothing to do with the book, but I want to say, after interviewing both Stewart Swerdlow and Montauk Chronicles filmmaker Chris Garetano for my podcast, that Stewart was by far the more cordial of the two. Garetano was a complete dick and it took two hours of back and forth persuasion to get him on a recorded phone call. I don't know what he was so cagey about, but it definitely had something to do with Swerdlow.

"Wes Borland, who wrote the foreword? More like... Wes Girland!" HA! "Pretty sure you're listening to this because most fans already pre-ordered this book on vinyl." What the hell!? Loving this.

There are occasionally books that connect with one facet of my personality in a comforting way, but never have I read a book that reflects on every single one of them. To put it plainly, this book is me. All my idiosyncracies, convoluted thoughts and coping mechanisms. It's all here in this book. Like staring into my mind's mirror.

An author critical of the Clintons died on September 11 on one of the hijacked planes? I never even heard about this. Man, those Clintons sure are coincidence magnets.

'Should he come upon a group of slaves who did not appear to be laboring as hard as they might, Jefferson would pull his horse to a halt and shake the whip at them, a bit of play-acting that a French visitor, the Comte de Volney, had observed at Monticello.'

Strange someone with so much to do with freedom could also have so much to do with oppression. Of course, this could be an anecdote with no foundations.

'Or he might be suddenly overcome with shame over something that had happened long ago, a specific scene from his past, most often from way back in his childhood, a memory that would pop up without warning, and again he would raise both hands in front of his face as if to hide as those despairing words burst out: “No, no.”'

Like someone held a mirror up to my life. I do that every day.

'He had canceled his subscriptions to the out-of-state newspapers, but he still took the Richmond Enquirer for the advertisements, which he considered “the only truths to be relied on in a newspaper.”

People who cling to sources are unable to think for themselves. I agree with him.

'Max turned to the strap-on wielding woman and winked. ‘I’m pretty sure you’re safe to go in bareback wearing that…’ The woman replied, ‘Not if the blood from the last person I fucked is contaminated!’'

Looks like a bunch of crybabies in the review section. Let's see what got them all in a tizzy.

'Fucking readers. Sounds depressing... Maybe I should kill myself? Nah, you Kill yourself.'

I'm beginning to wonder if I wrote this. Did I write this during a blackout session?

'I am sure I compelled some South of the Border Fact-Check reader to type away a response to me concerning proper usage of upside down exclamation points. To this I say, “May all the goddamn Fact-Checker readers, of the entire world, rot in hell!!”'

This fucking guy. Can you believe the balls on this dude? I'm cracking up over here. Why is this the first time I'm seeing these words in print?

'I lost my soul and I blame you. Fuck you, readers.'

I am officially hooked. Somebody finance this guy so he can write full time. If he doesn't have a Patreon, he should.

'Now what, reader? Stop reading, a few pages in? I know you addicts better than you know yourself. Your getting sucked into this. Your intrigued. Even if I commanded you to cease reading, immediately, for you’re own good.'

Do you see this? He's doing it intentionally! What the fuck are you going to do about it, you little nerds!? HA!

'The Fact-Check readers, not so much readers as professional researchers. These pathetic nerds read books searching for inaccuracies, longing for the privilege of telling you about the differences between an alligator and a crocodile and how you utilized it improperly in your novel.'

I want to high five this author! Fuck yes! It's exactly what I've been saying all along! They weren't bullied enough in high school!

'I hate readers. Pretentious, judgmental, lazy, agoraphobic sociopaths. Shoving their collective noses into fantasy, while neglecting their own reality. Put this book down, take out the trash, empty the dishwasher, mow the lawn, feed the kids, do something useful other than pursue this disturbing collection of words.'

That's just the first paragraph! I'm loving this one already!
