This story is seriously kicking major ass so far and I'm still pretty deep in the exposition/backstory/infodump phase. The concept of diseased and inbred gods is a fascinating one.

I feel really bad for the main protagonist, Elektra, who now believes that she is immortal due to a powerful drug cocktail. The way life drops all these practical jokes on her head, I feel like she's in for a huge comedown in the third or fourth act of this huge story.

'Jesus. They have stationed themselves in front of my table and are reciting fucks and dudes as if to reach the back row of the Globe Theatre. ​But the mightiest of fucks and dudes give way before the visual arts. I ponder two remaining pages of tree-corpse. I fear that I have spent every arrow in my quiver, but I am desperately close to the final curtain, the cast party.'

Don't even remember buying this, but awesome!

So I hate to tell you this, and you may hate to hear it, but I don’t feel much palpable hatred radiating up here in Hate Country, USA. I’ve encountered far more true, unhinged, screaming hatred on any single block of NYC or LA than in the entire northern Idaho Panhandle.

Right now, I'm hedging all my bets on a quota of human sacrifices as the secret to this palatial new utopian community that's the last bastion of defense against the winter night phantoms.

The author just about rode the mystery of the whiteout's cause and the offending monsters to the point of me no longer caring. A hundred seventy pages into volume four here and finally he decides to drop the other shoe. Now we get somewhere.

I'll try to overlook the RPG hit point tic and give this series one more try.

This either has to be the most antisemetic thing ever written, the craziest thing ever written or the most dispassionate deep dive into World War 2 history.
