Things are maybe too slow? Like I expect it to rush toward the end...

2* - love the short chapters, but this book is so long and I know I am not great with historical fiction, but I am waiting to see if this book will change my initial opinion.

I am on a mission to reset my currently reading before 2024. Wish me luck!

3* Love me a book about loving food and loving cooking and the dystopia is great, but... I don't know. There is something missing and the writing is lacking...

Finally! All the love for food and taste! Also I cannot wait for the two stories to meet somehow...

I do complain a lot about this book but I have to admit the feeling of not fitting in, being around peopel that feel like a different species, just hit me to my core.

This crime mystery is a puzzle. I have no idea how it will work out in the end.

I am really intrigued and I cannot wait to read this and then watch the show because it all looks so good!

Oh, dear, I like these savages... I still prefer my romances fluffy and I will still argue that this is not romance at all, but anyway, this is mostly a filler book where plot wise nothing happens but you do get to care for the Serpents, which is not something I wanted to do but alas, here we are.

Just let the poor man rest. But also fun.

So the thing is... with the Secret History, I kinda still liked them even if they were not the most likeable characters and even though I knew they murdered someone... but with If We Were Villains I find it so hard to care for any of the characters!!!

Also how do they do so many action things and still have time to write in their journals? All of them! WOW! I barely do any work and ignore my diary like it might poison me.

Okay, so whenever they talk about the garlic flowers to put around their necks, do you imagine garlic flowers or just garlic? I need to know!

Dystopian world, the religion... really intriguing.

4* Great great start.

The main character is just... hard to believe, sorry, I don't know... I just never vibe with the super naive but also super smart at the same time characters. Sorry, not sorry.

I am having trouble with this book. Not thrillery enough, not horrory enough, too much like Where the Crawdads Sing and Twilight is mentioned way too much - which I do not get because I've never read Twilight so... maybe that's why we don't vibe?

Bloody and raw. Finally got to Ariel (the poem).

All the similarities to Where the Crawdads Sing pull me out of this dark atmospheric tale...

There are moments that remind me of Where the Crawdads Sing, but very small similarities...

Yeah, yeah, okay, but where is this love coming from cause I haven't seen it while reading this... I saw some lust maybe, some fun, but love?
