Ok… I did not expect to find Evangeline a bit annoying. I’m sorry, but she makes dumb choices (a lot).

Okay so, I like the characters (although I don’t trust Marisol). The story reads pretty easily and I am going through the book pretty quickly, but I am also a little bored… Still intrigued and absolutely want to continue reading, but it is also a little slow or something. Idk.

I haven’t read Caraval and maybe that’s a mistake, but I don’t really care. Also, I thought this trilogy was situated before Caraval, but it apparently takes place after. Unfortunately, Caraval doesn’t really peak my interest and I think I am content with only reading this trilogy.

Thank goodness, she is an independent woman and can make her own decisions.
