I don’t know why I was nervous to get into this. Lehane can write about anything and it’s great, including a book set in the early 1920’s (which he somehow makes riveting).

Something interesting,

A lot of famous people from the time period make cameos, J. Edgar Hoover is in a scene, Babe Ruth has intermission chapters, and a lot more.

Really funny so far. I mean I’d heard that this book had a lot of dark humor but jeez I wasn’t expecting this much. Not a bad thing though, if a book can make me laugh that means it’s a good one.

The stuff about his second murder and how he though it’d be all over. Then the days passed and he realized that he’d gotten away again.

Chilling stuff.

So my rule is anytime there is a new Stephen king book I drop everything and if shoots straight to the top of the TBR and this (of course) was no exception.

The first 3 stories were very mediocre. The first one didn’t have a point but now we’re getting good.

Really great so far and could be a great start to Ken Follett for those who haven’t read him and want to. It’s technically a sequel to Pillars but only in the fact that it takes place in the same town. And Prior Phillip is mentioned once in passing.
