Shelving the book

I am barely at 5 percent in this book and I am absolutely hooked so far. The imagery is outstanding, the prose is elegant, and the first action scene is probably the best I’ve ever read. The Windspren are such an intriguing element to this book as well. There’s just so many reasons to read all 1100 pages of this book already.

Very early on and I’m already very impressed with the prose and style of writing. At times this book feels a bit complex because we are introduced to so much style and lore all at once, however once you begin to grasp onto it, you start to glide through the pages.

AMAZING. Not done with it yet, but my goodness, the magic system is not too complicated but it is still mysterious and fun. The earth itself is a separate character, there’s painful moments but the book isn’t dwelling solely in suffering, there’s plenty of action, and the characters are strange and interesting. Plenty of representation as well with POC and queerness. Curious to see how the book ends
