Very good, I really like the main character. Looking forward to getting to the end of this book. I want to see how the piece of art ties into the whole thing.
Also, I won't spoil what happened, but I just had a shocking moment in the book that I didn't see coming, so that was really fun (and heartbreaking!).

I'm locking in on this book... schools been keeping me from it even though I started it September 1st :(.
Shout out Pia again because this is the second book in a row that I've read that was a gift from her!!

Consider me invested. I am excited to finish it. I have some theories, but I don't think any of them are concrete. The story is preventing it (in a good way!)

Ok so far. I am still waiting to be invested. It's definitely slower pace-wise than other mystery books I've read.

Good so far... but I do have a theory that I think is going to be the result of the mystery. Expecting some fun plot twists soon!

I love it... I'm so ansious to finish it. But then I won't have any more Empyrean series for two years... it's bittersweet :(

I am not a fan of this book :(. I know it's a culturally important story, but I have not been able to get behind the characters yet, and since we're halfway through the book, I don't think I'm going to be. I know that they are traumatized from way and that affects the way they think and act but still.
Also, I may not like this because of senioritis, and I'm not going to use it for the FRQ section on the AP exam.

UGH I'm so happy to be back in this world, I was immediately hooked from the first page... just like I was last time! So excited to read this series all the way through again (with Onyx Storm) over the next month!

Literally so heartbreaking. No other words. I just read the pages and feel awful for Celie.

I love it so far! Wes is easily my favorite character and I am waiting for Liz to catch up and see that he is perfect for her!
I love how the mom is incorporated but I also feel like Liz is low-key debilitated by it, and shuts out a lot of people.
Also - I don’t like Michael… he’s sketchy. But I definitely think that when Wes tells Liz he’s helping her, he is telling Michael how much he likes Liz!

FARADAY NOOOOO!!!! I love the ways that the plot is being set up in this book, you can tell that he is planning for a big reveal at some point... I'm almost positive that this is going to go into another book... it's a pretty sane take since this book is a trilogy. I also love the way that Neal Shusterman is able to make me either love or absolutely despise a character. His descriptions just click in my brain!
