I really want to dnf this 😭 I don’t know what it is about this book but it just feels?? ordinary? The writing is very very casual and immature and not in the teenage account type of way. I also can’t seem to care for any of the characters. Maybe teenage contemporary really isn’t the genre for me.

umm not to be a fiction obsessed teenager or anything but this book WILL be a 5 star read. I can feel it.

dnf-ing at 28% mostly because me being the highly intellectual individual I am, did not read the synopsis before going into it. I expected a fun high-stakes fantasy (especially because of how the cover looks) but got something completely different. Because of which I completely lost interest in the plot. Also, something about the writing is very wattpad-esque and cringy.

This is a dad recommended book in case you already couldn’t tell. My initial thoughts were that this was going to be one tedious read but it’s actually pretty interesting so far. I’ll definitely be going slow with this one though.

Started reading this a few days ago after I saw the trailer for its movie adaptation come out. It stars Brad Pitt so I was bound to give the book a shot :) Super entertaining so far. Not to foreshadow or anything but this seems like a potential five star read 🤫

this book is dark, humorous and traumatising all at the same time. and I really like it 😭
