You know, some of my favorite MM romance books are written by women... but there is just something about the ones written by male authors that just grab me by my metaphorical 'nads.

Hellz yeah! A strong, capable, smart woman in an MM romance. Gawd, why does that seem so hard to find?

Okay, so forgive the perfectionist in me but I'm pretty sure that Con wouldn't be in any of the Special Forces because of his transient and less-than-legal, grifter type upbringing. He would be unlikely to pass a background check for Secret/Top Secret clearance - almost always a requirement for that level of service - if the investigators can't corroborate his entire history (a past it sounds as if he made up).

I'm not sure when it started but I've firmly decided that I DO NOT like omniscient POV...mainly due to the willy-nilly head-hopping.

No, see, varied tastes infers at least different genres; songs you can't find being played on the same fucking station. For instance, my 3 favorite songs EVER are: American Pie, Feel Like Making Love & Baby Got Back...but I almost exclusively listen to EDM now.

So, everyone has "that one song that makes you dance like a lunatic when you're alone in the house" & for a moody 16yr old that song is "Rainbow it the Dark" by Dio?!? JFC, even when *I* was a moody 16yr old I wouldn't have picked that song! How do you even dance to that?

Mine was like "Blister in the Sun" or "Add It Up" or "Institutionalized." Damn, I still dance my ass off when I hear "Blue Monday."

Okay, I just have to ask: Who in the hell comments that the inside of a house is so much bigger than it looks like on the outside...by comparing it to Snoopy's fucking doghouse?? JFC, that's like, a classic Dr. Who/Tardis line.

Gah, don't you just hate it when you get half-way through a book and you can't decide if the rest of it is worth the effort & aggravation? When it happens to me, I almost always end up torturing myself because my brain is like, "Fuck that shit! You ain't giving up after suffering through this far, Bitch!"

Okay, this one is off to a pretty decent start. *knock wood*

OMG those wedding vows. So beautiful, so sweet...I love these guys. *sniff*

The deeper we get into the story, the more I realize how much I like that the dual PsOV are alternating with Clark in the past and Noah in the present. An interesting style choice that really works for this book.

Really loving the t-shirt slogans. I wonder what it say about me that the only thing I miss about not having a job is being able to buy whatever book I want, whenever I want it...and adding to my own geeky t-shirt collection. Otherwise? Meh...I'd rather be reading.

Very slow going here...hoping it picks up with some sort of action, drama...something.

The last time I did this it came back to bite me in the ass, but: I'm pleasantly surprised by how much I'm enjoying this book! It's a new-to-me author, so it was definitely an iffy proposition - especially since I'd not seen any reviews by people I follow.

(Also, *snort* I said "ass butt.")

Damn. Except for the hoarding & being a guy, Cole reminds me entirely too much of myself and all the crap I ran from...

*groan* At this point I'm just hoping it ends soon. I've got to stop picking books because they meet some criteria without really reading the QUALITY reviews. Damn challenges.

Damn it, I spoke too soon. There are so many random grammatical, word choice & punctuation errors now that it's all I can see. What a way to completely remove me from the story. *sigh*

I just have one complaint so far: Author? You need a new editor, grrrl.

For the most part the sentence structures are fine...but OMFG who taught this person that "So, we're finally getting a boy," Trouble asked[...] didn't required a question mark as part of that quote? Almost every single time it's like this. Standalone question? No problems, though. Argh. So frustrating.

Well, since ReneCade is one of my favorite MM books EVER I figured I should probably go back and read the ones that came before it.
