This has been such a great read so far. Trying not to read too quickly as the essays demand contemplation and time. Highly recommend.

Reading this I can see how Brontë fans say it is better than Jane Eyre for it is clear her writing has more depth and the subtlety of it is amazing! BUT I would say that it is very still and slow plot wise. There is a distance and coolness to the main character, our lense, Lucy Snowe that is difficult to watch as you so want her to do something! Self-agency is a strange thing in this book. Frustrating at points.
