I made a promise. I'm keeping the promise. It's currently reading how I imagined it would. I read 136 pages in an hour and a half and it's pretty fine.
It's very of its time I feel. Which feels dumb when that's only around ten years ago but I lived through It so I guess I get to say it.
I am currently empathising with parents in books a lot at the moment which is interesting. They're all so sad and sweetly pathetic

But I think that's the point, it's not necessarily that one is right and the other wrong just a study of the differences and relationships between different generations

Reattempting this book after 5 years. People and authors love this book and it's short so I thought I'd give it a go again. I closed it because of my dislike of the way Bazarov was portrayed as this cool guy when it seemed too on the nose. I am already enjoying it a lot more. I feel a deep perhaps patronising sympathy for the fathers and a quiet ironic view of the "sons" over the top embracing of their "radical" view
